Well, Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day was a hoot! This is a post I wrote after seeing the response to this event, followed by all of my comments in the ensuing debate. I’m re-blogging this because there’s not really any way to have said it better myself!

WE DID NOT CREATE THIS FUCKED UP WORLD WE NOW LIVE IN!!! Our grandparents set things in motion to create a grand world, then our parents came along and fucked up everything our grandparents created. They devastated the world’s economy, turned our politics into a mud slinging competition, misinterpreted the constitution that our country was founded on, and are now attempting to allow religion to overthrow and take over our government!

What they have done is unforgivable. We are now left to clean up their mess, and yet they won’t allow this because THEY are the one’s that know better!

The bible and LGBTQ – Part 3

I now deliver to you, for your mind-gasmic pleasure – My wrap up to the three part series: The bible and LGBTQ!!!

OK, so I’ve now shown how there’s not a place in the entire fucking bible that condemns homosexuality.  I systematically broke down the reality of all of the verses that “christians” build their theology around.  As it turns out… the bible HAS been changed via translators to instate bigoted religious propaganda bullshit!!!  Jesus said NOTHING about homosexuality at all, Paul said nothing about homosexuality at all, most all of the verses against homosexuality were changed by the church in order to force propaganda on their religious society and disguise it with religion, and thus keep the government out of it.  But now the church is trying to infiltrate and take over the American government in order to further perpetuate their bigoted propaganda!  Bigoted propaganda which actually has NO biblical basis… but is hiding behind a biblical mask!  The only verses that DO exist say something like, “Hey, homosexual sex is ritually unclean.  If you could stay away from that, that’d be great!”  But “christians” LOOOVE to stop there and say “See homosexuality is bad!”  Ok, well if you pull one verse from Old Testament law, then you have to uphold all Old Testament laws!  So…  right next to it, it also says “Hey, eating shrimp, cutting your hair and beard, working on the Sabbath, tattooing your body, cross-breeding livestock, mixing seeds are all ceremonially unclean too.  So if you could stay away from those, that’d be great!”  So why is it that all of those other things are acceptable now, but homosexuality isn’t?

Religious Propaganda!  THAT is why!

There was another group of slightly oppressive individuals that ALSO had an idea of the perfect “christian” family.  This family was a Mother, Father, and Children.  These individuals all had blonde hair, and blue eyes!  The perfect family, and the perfect race!

Now “christian’s” LOOVE to point out when a non-christian is cherry picking from the bible, but can’t stand the same accusation!  In fact, ANYBODY that EVER disagrees with a “christian” (even other “christians”) is Cherry-picking, or they are buying into Satan’s lies, or they are maliciously trying to destroy others!  (Yeah, I’ve heard and have been accused of all of these before)  I’m telling you right now.  There is ABSOLUTELY ZERO malicious intent in anything I ever say or write, NOONE will be harmed by reading or hearing the TRUTH, YOU sir/ma’am, are buying into Satan’s lies because you disagree with me, And YOU sir/ma’am, are the one that is TRULY cherry picking!  Heh… Cherry-picking!  THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT CHRISTIAN ANTI-LBGTQers ARE DOING!!!  You take two verses from Leviticus but ignore all the rest of Leviticus?  That my friends, is the very definition of “cherry picking”.  When you excuse away all the other commands in Leviticus due to society, but this one you cling on to?  That’s just plain old BULLSHIT!!!  And when you CHANGE your religious text in 1946, to say shit it was never intended to say, but still call those changed scriptures inerrant… that sir is so incredibly deviously malicious and evil that I don’t even know what to do with it!

Then we also have the really extreme wackos that say things like: The government should kill all gay people!  Or we should put them all behind an electric fence and let them die out because they can’t reproduce!  Gay’s aren’t born, they are recruited!

Now, here is the part where people will say “not everyone who says they are ‘christian’ are really ‘christian!’”  or  “They don’t represent all Christians!”

Um… I hate to break it to you… but yeah… they kinda are, and kinda do!  You see if you can sit there and say “they aren’t a ‘real christian’” just because someone disagrees with you, then there are NO “real christians” in the entire world!  It doesn’t work that way…  You aren’t the judge of the label “christian!”  Thus, if someone claims the label, they have it!  Here’s where someone reading this just said “But being a “christian” is more than just a label!”  Um… no dumbass… no it’s not!  Following Jesus the Christ, or following the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth is more than just a label.  “Christianity” is nothing more than just a fucking label.  And a really rotten, fucked up label to wear at that!!!

You see, the hateful “christians” are “christians.”  And ALL “christians” are bigots!  Yes I said all!  There are mean, hateful bigots.  And there are nice, sweet bigots…  But they are both still bigots!!!  The hateful ones are merely an extreme form of bigotry…  Bigotry is still bigotry any way you look at it.  I had a pastor state to me that “gays are welcome to come to church here, but they can’t join the church and they can’t take a leadership position.”  (leadership position to him is anything from preacher, to the person that greets at the door, to someone giving out donuts)  Basically you can come in, but you can’t practice “christianity!”  I’d bet that church would still accept the gay person’s money if they wanted to give it!  That person just can’t have a voice in the church, can’t practice “chrsitianity,” and can’t be a real “christian.”  How is that any better than the pastors that say “kill all gays?!?”

I’ll give you a hint… it’s WORSE!  Its hate disguised as love!  I think those who spread hate in a loving way are worse and more dangerous than those who do it in a maliciously, hateful manner.  When someone does hurtful shit in a loving way… it still hurts!  Even if they are genuinely meaning well.  They don’t know it… but they are just sneaking up on your psyche and then running a dagger through you without knowing it!  At least you know to stay away from the openly hateful!!!  …thus these nice bigots now give love a bad name as well!!!  You see, a big friendly rottweiler doesn’t know he’s tearing a child apart… he’s just trying to play with the kid!  But his friendliness doesn’t make the Rottweiler any less dangerous; in fact, he’s probably MORE dangerous because of being friendly!  It brings about a false sense of security.  That is modern-day “christians” in a nutshell!  Too much “christian” not enough Christ!  FUCK YOU AND YOUR HATEFUL LOVE ASSHOLES!!!  IT’S STILL HATE!!!

“Christians” have lost sight of what their religion is all about!  “Christianity,” over time, has become a religion of hate and condemnation instead of a religion of love and acceptance.  I find it VERY ironic that “christians” call themselves by that name.  It’s a term that they derived from the title of Jesus of Nazareth who was their “CHRIST.”  It originally was a derogatory term given to the followers of Jesus by the Greeks and it meant “the excellent-ones.”  Seems harmless, but it would basically be equivalent to our modern day “a goody-goody.”  But Christians, like always, CHANGED the word slightly, and thus also changed the meaning to mean “the anointed ones.”  In our modern time “christians” wear it as a badge of pride and think of it as sharing in the title of “Christ” with Jesus.  It’s wearing their savior’s name!  They have also changed the history slightly so that the meaning of the word means “little christs.”


And now we come to why I try to be very careful to always put the word “christian” in quotes.  The ironic part?  If the term meant “little christs,” as “christians” claim… and being a “christian” meant that you are to strive to be more like Jesus the Christ…  Why don’t more “christians” act like their Christ?  They don’t!  “Christian” behavior is MUCH more in line with the Pharisees than with the Christ!  That is why I put the term “christian” in quotes.  Because they may claim they are little Christs, but they are really nothing more than little Pharisees.  And they have made Jesus look like the dude to the left there!

…No wonder people are leaving the church in record numbers!!! And no wonder Atheism is the fastest growing… belief… lack of belief… population… not really sure how you’d say that… but you get the point!

The Church and “christians” suck, and people are getting fucking SICK and TIRED of “christians” and their bigotry!!!

Keep your religion out of the government, keep your bigotry behind closed doors!  Don’t throw that shit in my face, and don’t try to FORCE our government to FORCE it in my face!!!  I find it absolutely hilarious that “christians” are VERY quick to hide behind the separation of church and state when it comes to things like paying taxes, being able to express their religious belief wherever and whenever they see fit, etc, etc…   But when it comes to them trying to take over and run the American government, they say that separation of church and state is unconstitutional and that our Nation was founded by “christians” as a “christian” nation!  Every time I hear that line of crap I wanna punch them in the face!  America was in NO WAY founded as a “christian” nation!  …Seriously!  Those were the words of John Adams himself!  You remember John Adams right?  Founding father of America, framer of the Contitution!  Yeah… for more on this see:  https://boggsism.wordpress.com/2012/02/08/america-the-christian-nation/

Someone once stated that we should take these bigots and remove them from our country, or give them Montana, and let them run their own government…  something to that effect… I’m sorry, but that’s pretty fucking ignorant!  I don’t agree with you…  You see, I’m afraid that your idea wouldn’t solve the situation at all… Even though they say they just want to run A government… they wouldn’t be happy with being given their own country and their own government.  As long as “christians” exist they must find a way to oppress non-christians!  With your idea, “christians” will still exist, and therefore will still find a way to get out and use religion to control the masses…  that’s what they do!  They aren’t satisfied with running a country of people who believe the same as they do…  CHRISTIANS HAVE AN INHERENT NEED TO OPPRESS OTHERS!!!  That’s why they have done it and have kept doing it throughout the last 2 millennia!

Hey, I’ve got an idea…  Put all Bigots behind an electric fence, cover them with gasoline, and set that bitch on FIRE!!!  That’s how you get rid of bigotry!  If you have a better idea than that… cool, but something’s gotta give, and something’s gotta give NOW!!!

The bible and LGBTQ – Part 2

As you saw in part 1, the MAJOR passages in the bible that condemn homosexuality have been refuted, and long since been discarded as a misinterpretation, and a misrepresentation of the ACTUAL intent of the passages.  This blog (part 2) will discuss the passages that supposedly “touch” on homosexuality in some minor way.  If you missed part 1, here’s a link to it: https://boggsism.wordpress.com/2012/06/10/the-bible-and-lgbtq

The passages in question are:
Genesis 2:18-25; Proverbs 18:22; Romans 6:13; Mark 7:21; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5; Romans 13:13; Corinthians 6:13; 1 Corinthians 6:18-19; Galatians 5:19-21; Colossians 3:5; Revelation 21:8; Revelation 22:15;

The Genesis passage is the one where god looks at man and says “it’s not good for man to be alone.”  First off, god acknowledges that he created man to be a social creature.  It’s against the nature of man to be alone.  This is for several reasons.  First, man is a social creature that thrives on social interactions. Second, man needs an outlet for his sexual urges.  God created two heterosexuals here for the purpose of procreation.  Of course, this was after he paraded all the animals in front of Adam to see what Adam liked better.  Adam apparently had no interest in bestiality; thus, god had to create another human.  If god wanted man to continue past Adam, he had to create Eve, and not Steve.  This has no weight as to what god thinks about homosexuality, nor can we infer that this is the ONLY way god designed humans to engage in monogamous relationships.  In fact, these had to have been other humans in existence, otherwise… who did Cain go off and marry after killing Abel?  AND, why did god have to put a mark of protection on Cain in order to prevent other people from harming Cain?  The bible is very clear that he went off, found a town, married, and had a family.  So… If there were other people in existence in addition to Adam and Eve, then we can NOT infer anything about the sexual nature for which god created man.  Therefore, we must discard this as a homosexuality passage.  What we CAN infer from this passage, is that it’s not good for man to be alone and celibate.  So if a man is born that is not in any way attracted to females, god wants that man to find a sexual partner as his outlet.  Thus, it’s good for homosexuals to find a suitable partner for themselves.

Proverbs states that “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.”  Anytime I’m confronted with a single verse, or short passage, I’m always curious… “What is going on around it?”  That IS really the only way to read anything.  Otherwise, one can take ANYTHING out of context.  I’ve proved this once before with a phrase taken out of context written by C.S. Lewis.  Taken out of context, it actually sounded contrary to any other philosophical work he had done.  But when read in context, he was merely giving the other side of the argument.  This verse happens amid a lot of short “one-liner” proverbs.  It’s just a compilation of short wise sayings.  “A man with one chopstick goes hungry” or “War does not determine who is right; war determines who is left” things like that.  NONE of the other one-liners deal with marriage, sex, sexuality, or anything of that nature.  THIS one-liner doesn’t even speak to any sex or sexuality related topic!  The general consensus among scholars is that the verse isn’t complete.  In fact there are many manuscripts that added good to wife.  “He who finds a GOOD wife” thus speaking to the rarity of a wife of noble character, and this keeps with the later proverbs 31.  The Septuagint actually adds an entire other one-liner to this chapter “He who casts out a good wife, casts away that which is good: but he that keepeth an adulteress is foolish and ungodly.”  Others argue that the author may have been thinking about marriage in its ideal aspect I.E. the fairytale ending of – “you get married and live happily ever after.”  As we all know… this is complete and total bullshit!  No one is “happily-ever-after” in marriage.  Marriage comes with a whole slew of problems that make the majority of people miserable.  The closest that marriages come to “happily-ever-after” is that women are emotionally driven, and that can cloud their judgment on the true nature of their marriage.  Men are a lot more reserved about their feelings and usually don’t speak their mind on how miserable they really are.  This is possibly one reason for a higher divorce rate these days, and why women are caught off guard a LOT when the man suggests it, or is even caught with a mistress.  A lot of time, women are shocked when they find out their husband is cheating.  “I had no idea!  I thought everything was fine.  Our relationship had been better than ever!”  Yeah… maybe in your world!  Keep a man celibate long enough, or keep a man beat down and out of his manliness long enough, and he’s going to lash out in SOME way!  No matter what the verse’s implication is for marriage, heterosexual relationships, etc, etc… make no mistake, the verse says NOTHING against homosexuality.  And to take this one insignificant verse and say “see husband and wife… that’s how it was designed” is absolutely asinine!

For anyone to use Romans 6:13 as a passage against homosexuality is reaching pretty far indeed.  This verse says nothing about homosexuality.  In fact, it says nothing about sexual anything at all.  It simply says “don’t offer your body to sin.  Offer it as an instrument to god.”  Unfortunately, this verse can be read and used as a “catch-all” verse.  This verse is sooo ambiguous that it can, indeed, be used to back up ANYONE’S theology that they have made up about ANYTHING… thus “christians” use it to back up bigotry!  See homosexuality is a sin.  Romans 6:13 says don’t offer your body to sin.  Well… I’ve already proved without a shadow of doubt in part 1 that the bible does not establish homosexuality as a sin… thus, this verse doesn’t fit in the topic of homosexuality!

Mark 7:21, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, Romans 13:13, Corinthians 6:13, 1 Corinthians 6:18-19, Galatians 5:19-21, Colossians 3:5, Revelation 21:8, and Revelation 22:15 ALL speak toward “sexual immorality.”  I already laid out what “sexual immorality” meant to Paul, the disciples, Jesus, and pretty much everyone in that era in part 1.  “Sexual immorality” really was more rampant and generally accepted waaay more than it is today!  In fact to the greeks, it was a part of worship for some of their gods.  Worship of some greek gods were nothing more than big drunken orgy parties.  (This actually sounds a LOT more fun than going to church to sing hymns and listen to some old guy make you feel bad about yourself and hate others!!!)  Other areas of the world regularly celebrated debauchery like rape, gang rapes, molesting children, orgies of all kinds, incest, necrophilia, bestiality, and prostitution.  All of “sexual immorality” that was practiced by some cultures and cities, and were condemned by Jesus and his followers usually harmed an individual in some way…  and Guess what, they still do harm others, and all of those acts can get your ass thrown in jail today!  A monogamous homosexual relationship doesn’t hurt anyone.  The funny part is that Paul actually states that these “sexual immoralities” are a part of our human nature, and are natural to us.  So these heinous things are natural, but same-sex attraction is unnatural?  I’m raising the bullshit flag on that one.  Especially since all around us in nature there are signs that homosexuality is common place in nature.  One of Paul’s biggest stances was against temple prostitution.  He had a BIG problem with this.  So most of the time when Paul uses the term “sexual immorality” he is usually referring to temple prostitution, NOT homosexuality!

See, NOTHING ever included homosexuality in that list of “sexual immoralities.”  In fact, it wasn’t until about 700 CE, after Paul, and all of the other main disciples had looong since died off, that the “christians” decided that homosexuality was the primary sin of Sodom, and coined the term “sodomia” our root for modern day “sodomy.”  This was a couple hundred years after the Roman emperor Justinian I added homosexuality to the list of sexual immorality, and declared that Sodom’s sin was specifically same-sex sins and desire for them.  He also stated that “famines, earthquakes, and pestilences were due to homosexual behaviors.  “Christians” took Justinian’s bogus and bigoted idea and built a theology around it that the founders of “christianity” never intended to convey!

What I find the MOST interesting, is the passage of Mark that people want to use as if it is a passage against homosexual relationships!  HAHA… This is a PERFECT example of “christians” cherry picking, and then using one verse GROSSLY out of context to back up their bigotry!
Mark 7:21 stops shortly after listing sexual immorality as an evil thought that begins in the heart.  OK, again, the above paragraphs answer the “sexual immorality” part of this passage, but the part that I find interesting is that it’s one verse!  AGAIN… my natural thought is ALWAYS, “What else is going on around the verse?”  So, if one was to read before and after the verse… you know, how it was MEANT to be read, you don’t get anything about homosexual acts at all!

Basically the Pharisees, once again, come up to Jesus and his disciples and chastise them all for not living according to the TRADITION of the elders, and eating food with defiled hands.  As we all know, the Pharisees had NOTHING but contempt for Jesus and his followers, and didn’t ever address things in a nice way with them.  Jesus got pissed here (like he always does when the Pharisees come around) and chastised them in harsh language (like usual).  Jesus called them hypocrites, and quoted Isaiah stating that “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.  They worship me in vain;  their teachings are merely human rules.”  He then tells them that they have let go of the commands of god and are holding on to human TRADITIONS.  Then he turns to the crowd and says that nothing that enters a body makes them unclean.  But it is a person’s heart that makes them unclean.

You see, Jesus was constantly condemning the Pharisees because their hearts were not in the right place.  Jesus’ message was ALWAYS about love and acceptance of all people no matter what.  Well… love and acceptance for all but the Pharisees.  HAHA  These individuals he harshly condemned and hated.  He even stated that they would not see the kingdom of heaven.  I constantly point out that most “christians” are nothing more than the 21st century Pharisees.  Because frankly they are!  (https://boggsism.wordpress.com/2012/04/13/the-21st-century-pharisees-and-sadducees)

The bible and LGBTQ – Part 1

This is going to be part 1 of a three part blog entitled The bible and LGBTQ.  Part one will be the “Big verses” and the most widely used verses the supposedly directly mention homosexuality.  Part 2 will be verses that supposedly mention or have something to do with condemning homosexuality.  Part 3 will be my wrap-up and my personal thoughts on this subject matter!

Now remember, I personally don’t give a shit whether a person believes in the bible or not.  But the purpose of THIS blog is to answer these supposed condemning verses on homosexuality!  Ones that I even used myself once upon a time to spread my own bigotry and ignorance on the subject when I, too, was naïve like so many others!  Since this is seen as a religious issue, most people argue against LGBTQ rights from a “christian” worldview, the verses in question are from the “christian” religion, AND I’ve been down that same path of religious bigotry using the exact same “christian” arguments, it will be written from a “christian” mindset and with a “christian” worldview in mind.

OK…  Here it goes:

I’ve been hearing a lot of the same old tired verses that condemn homosexuality.  These verses have long since been answered and rejected for evidence that god is a bigot.  To keep things short-ish, I’m only going to post references and maybe give a basic over-view of the passages…  You’re a big boy/girl you can either look up the reference yourself, or since you’re reading this on the internet, you can quickly open a new tab, and google it!

The verses in Question are:
Genesis 19:1-25; Leviticus 18:22; Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-28; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 Timothy 1:8-11; 2 Peter 2:6-10; Jude 7; and Judges 19:22-30 (I’m saving this one for last for a reason)

I’m no expert in History, Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, the bible, poetry, etc, etc.  I’m really not an expert in anything.  Nor have I ever claimed to be an expert in anything.  I AM, however, a firm believer that true wisdom comes from knowing that you know nothing!  What I do have an ability to do is critically think through things and then investigate things that are not logically sound.  I rely on people that have dedicated entire lives and careers to History, Languages, Philology, Theology, etc, etc.  I, being no expert in any way, MUST rely on EXPERTS that know as much as they are able to know about these things.  Only then can I make an informed decision on ANYTHING!

Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah

Let’s start at Genesis 19:1-25 – The Story of Sodom and Gomorrah
This is one of the major verses that people use to “prove” that god hates homosexuality.  This is actually a GROSS misinterpretation of this passage!  Ancient hospitality codes (especially the ones of the Hebrew people) stated that you MUST open your home to travelers and give them food, shelter, and protection.  Thus Lot did as his god commanded him to do… he was hospitable to the angels.  The people of the town came and demanded the angels come out so the people could have sex with them!  The towns people were angry, and pretty demanding about this!  (Yeah… sounds like they wanted to take them to dinner, wine and dine them, and make love by the fireside to me!  FUCK NO!!!  the townspeople wanted to RAPE the angels!  And not only rape, but GANG RAPE THE FUCK OUT OF THE ANGELS!!!)

So, now Lot offers up his daughters to the men that were just demanding to rape these men Lot was harboring… the daughters were accepted instead… hmm… sounds like Lot knew his neighbors were actually heterosexual, and since they accepted the daughters, kinda sounds like Lot was right, and the townspeople didn’t care who they fucked… Lot probably could have offered them his cow and they’d have accepted it!  So the people were innately heterosexual, but were wanting to gang rape men!  This was against their nature (remember this… it’s important for later in this blog)

Now, it is important to note here that the Hebrew word vadha or “to know” is used in many different ways in the bible.  In MOST cases it simply meant “to have thorough knowledge of” other times it meant “to check the credentials of.” Other places it meant “to have sex with.”  Some people actually argue that the people just wanted to meet and introduce themselves to the angels…
ROFLMFAO!  WOW!  This is absolutely ridiculous!  If you use logic to determine what is going on here, you realize there’s no way they’re just asking them out for a beer!

No, I definitely agree with the traditional idea that these people wanted to forcibly rape the angels.  Lot was compelled by the hospitality code to protect the angels from an act of extreme violence.  He was being VERY hospitable to his guests!  We all know that rape is a violent act.  Experts state that rape is about power, not about sex.  It’s about proving you are powerful enough and violent enough to take what you want!  This kind of rape was very common back then.  Kings did it, conquerors did it, many heterosexual men did it!  But they were heterosexuals going against their nature in order to cause harm to another human being.

Ezekiel 16:48-50 is VERY clear as to why Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed.  According to Ezekiel, the sins of Sodom were pride, laziness, being inhospitable, neglecting the needs of the poor, greed, and idolatry (the worshipping of idols). Nothing about homosexuality is mentioned, nor is it mentioned in any other passage of Scripture which refers to the account of Sodom.

Sodom and Gomorrah was not about men in love with men and women in love with women engaging in monogamous relationships… it was about a depraved society that praised and actively involved the whole city in horrid sexual acts.  The same kind of shit that would get anyone locked up in jail these days!  NOT about homosexuality!

ABOMINATION!!!

The next most popular passages to use are what I like to call the abomination passages!
Leviticus 18:22 & Leviticus 20:13
These passages are very abused and misinterpreted.  This particular area in the Levitical law was laying out rituals for Holiness and cleanliness for Israel and its Priests.  Paul is VERY clear that “christians” are no longer bound by the law. (Galatians 3:22-25; Romans 7:6; 1 Timothy 1:9; Romans 6:14; Hebrews 8:1-13).
So why are “christians” so quick to jump back into the old law that was clearly done away with?  Because they are grasping at straws to use religion to back up their bigotry!  “christians” really like to cherry pick through the bible and pull out passages that back up their beliefs… when in reality if you read them in a TRUE context… they don’t!  Here is a list of other things “christians” don’t like to focus on from the same law that they pulled Leviticus 18:22 & Leviticus 20:13 from:

Sexual intercourse during a women’s menstrual cycle
Tattoos
Wearing certain types of jewelry
Eating certain kinds of meat
Wearing clothing made from blended textiles (cotton-polyester blends)
Cross-breeding livestock
Sowing a field with mixed seed
Eating or touching the dead flesh of pigs, rabbits, & some forms of seafood
Men cutting their hair or shaving their beards
Saturday being observed as the Sabbath
NO work at all to be done on the Sabbath
The Holiness Code also endorses polygamy
Having their children stoned
Killing in general for LOTS of fun reasons

These are just to mention a few… obviously there are FAR more in there.  So “christians” acknowledge that they don’t have to follow this old law, they also actually practice, eat, don’t follow many things on that list, and don’t follow most of the old law in general.  But when it comes to homosexuality, they LOOOVE running back to these verses and embracing the old law!!!  …well, not ALL of the old law… just the parts they like!

Individuals usually retort back to this with “those things are cultural… homosexuality is not!” ROFLMFAO!!! (Clearly these people are NOT familiar AT ALL with logic and reason!)

How can anyone state that the stuff in other chapters are dictated by society, but the chapters that mention homosexual sex is not dictated by society? It either ALL must stand true today, or all must change based on the society around us. If it all stands true, then we are all fucked. Most all clothing is blended, we work on the Sabbath, worship on Sunday, mix seeds all the time, practice birth control thereby wasting sperm and not reproducing, shave our faces, eat all the different types of edible meat, and seafood is a delight in America!

If you read the bible as it SHOULD be read, then you will notice books of pure poetry, books of songs, books of history, books lining out CUSTOMS and TRADITIONS, etc, etc, etc…  These books should be read as they were written to be read!  Saying that Leviticus was written to be a modern moral code for the 21st century, is like saying that 1 Timothy was written to be a book of Erotic Poetry!  But it’s NOT!  Song of Solomon is a book of erotic poetry.  1st Timothy was a letter written to Timothy from Paul.  Leviticus was a book of law, ritual, and ceremony for the nation of Israel.  NOT a book of moral code for the 21st century.  Yeah, the book does have a few good basics that can translate into our modern world, but you can’t switch writings to be something that they aren’t just to back up bigotry!  When you look at the bible in this kind of an exegetical manner, (not using personal bias) things in the bible become MUCH clearer!  But most “christians” practice eisegesis by having their idea, and searching the bible for little verses here and there to prove that god is on their side…  This is what ends up creating contradictions and theology that doesn’t quite seem to fit right with the message of Jesus… and therefore the message of god!  This is also why “christians” fought AGAINST movements such as the equal rights for women movement, and the end slavery movement!  Yeah!  “christians” lead the fight AGAINST women’s rights and black rights, and they had WAAAY more than 6 verses to back them up on those issues! God gave them over!

The next MAJOR passage deals with Romans 1:24-28.  God gave someone over to their sinful desires and over to sexual impurity.  Who and why is “them” referring to?  The Gentiles were given over to their sinful ways because they rejected god.  Sexual impurity is talked about a lot here, but not homosexuality.

The Greek words that are used in this passage are physin and paraphysin.  People like to translate them as natural and unnatural, when in reality they don’t mean “to go against the laws of nature” as we would think of it in our modern idea, but the word was actually used as an action that was uncharacteristic for that individual.  Some people would now retort with the argument that I’m changing the real meaning of the words… I’m actually not!  That’s what “christians” have done over the years!  Changed the meaning of these words and other words throughout the bible.  The actual words are the same, yes, but the meanings associated with the words have changed over the years.  What we need to do, and what “christians” are SUPPOSED to do is focus on how the Greeks used and understood these words… NOT how modern day “christians” WANT to use and understand these words.  So it is important to remember here that I’m citing how the Greeks understood and used these words.  To say that paraphysin means “to go against the laws of nature” would be to say that Eros was the Greek word for Brotherly Love, or that Philos was the Greek word for unconditional love one has for another person.  In reality Eros is the Greek word for what we would call the feeling of love, Philos is the Greek word for Brotherly Love, and Agapeo is the word for unconditional love one has for another person.

In Romans 11:24 it talks about how Gentiles are a cut off olive branch that has now been grafted back onto the tree which is contrary to the nature cutting off an olive branch.  The word here is paraphysin.  Usually one wouldn’t cut off a branch just so they could put it back on…  that is against the person’s behavior that would normally fit them.  Not against natural law.

So what it appears is really going on in this passage is that it’s saying that the sexual perversion is that heterosexual men were burning with lust to have sex with other heterosexual men, and same thing with women.  So it’s unnatural for heterosexuals to live as homosexuals, and for homosexuals to live as heterosexuals.  (which sadly happens far too often these days because of religious bigotry!)

And before you say “oh that’s a bunch of bull… you are really stretching for this point!”
umm… remember when I told you to remember that part earlier… you know that part about Lot’s neighbors actually being heterosexual, and wanting to gang rape the angels anyway?  No? ok, I’ll remind you

Ok, now you remember right?  Ok… this is the perfect example for what Paul is talking about here in Romans as the paraphysin.

Men who have sex with men  +  those practicing homosexuality!
1 Corinthians 6:9-11& 1 Timothy 1:8-11

The words “men who have sex with other men” are translated from two greek words: malakee & arsenokeeteh.  The words “those practicing homosexuality” are translated from two greek words: malakee & arsenokeeteh.  See the pattern here?  The translator apparently didn’t…  same words, different translations.  The King James version translated malakee as effeminate and arsenokeeteh as abusers of themselves with mankind.  Hmm… that makes it sound a little bit different.  So what did these words actually mean to the Greeks, and thus to Paul?

Traditionally as well as elsewhere in the bible, malakee is used to refer to someone who lacks discipline or one who is morally weak.  And since, to the greeks, words weren’t quite as interchangeable as in our English language, we KNOW that these passages are simply mistranslated.  In fact, malakee was translated as lacking discipline/morally weak until 1946 when a sexual/homosexual connotation was given to the word and it became “sexual perverts” in the Revised Standard Edition.  Now, in our modern times it’s seen as “homosexual.”  Arsenokeeteh literally means “male-beds.”  This term is widely accepted as a word invented by Paul.  There are no records of any writer using it before Paul.  It is a VERY obscure word, and was used in different ways and to describe many different types of behaviors.  It was used to describe “people with infamous habits” as well as “child-molesters.”  If Paul was describing male homosexuality why did he choose an obscure word that no one but himself used; a word that he, himself, had used to describe several different behaviors?  Why would he invent a word when there were other Greek words for homosexual activity that were less ambiguous?  We have a lot of Greek homosexual erotic literature which has survived to this day, but none of it contains the word arsenokeeteh.

So what does arsenokeeteh mean then?  The thing is, this is a very highly debated word!  Nobody actually knows for certain. NOBODY.  Only Paul knows, and we can’t ask him!  Guess he should have used a more common Greek word to get his point across instead of making up one!

Arsenokoitai” is made up of two parts: “arsen” means “man“; “koitai” means “beds.”

Although the word in English Bibles is interpreted as referring to homosexuals, we can be fairly certain that this is not the meaning that Paul wanted to convey. If he had, he would have used the word “paiderasste.” That was the standard Greek term at the time for sexual activity between males. We can conclude that he probably meant something different than people who engaged in male-male adult sexual behavior.

We can only change how we view words now… we aren’t able to change how the word was understood by the Greeks and by Paul.  Which way would you rather read the words?  As Paul INTENDED to write them?  Or however you see fit?  I personally like to choose the writer over the reader!  Unfortunately, only Paul knows how he intended to use his made-up word.  It is our job to use context clues to ACCURATELY interpret Paul and his use of Greek words.  AGAIN, To say that arsenokeeteh means “homosexual” would be to say that Eros was the Greek word for Brotherly Love, or that Philos was the Greek word for unconditional love one has for another person.  In reality Eros is the Greek word for what we would call the feeling of love, Philos is the Greek word for Brotherly Love, and Agapeo is the word for unconditional love one has for another person.  You can’t change how the writer understood the words he used in order to back up your bigotry!

Wait a second!  Didn’t I already cover Sodom and Gomorrah?  Yeah I did!

See these two verses are merely recounting the story of Sodom and Gomorrah …  They’re just saying “Hey remember these guys… yeah… God didn’t like them, he destroyed the cities…  don’t turn into them”  And we are supposed to believe that he is only trying to say “Hey, don’t get gay!”

I raise the bullshit flag on this one!  The cities were renowned for worshiping and praising debauchery like rape, gang rapes, molesting children, etc, etc!  Shit was pretty out of control there…  it’s nothing like America trying to allow two men in love to say “I do!”  OH GOD THE HORROR… yeah, cause that’s the same as gang raping 12 year old boys right?

Judges 19:22-30

This was a new one that was brought to my attention today… NEVER heard anyone use this one to condemn homosexuals… I had to look it up!

Here’s the short version highlighting the main points of the story:
…  some of the wicked men of the city surrounded the house. Pounding on the door, they shouted to the old man who owned the house, “Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him.” …  this man is my guest, don’t do this outrageous thing. 24 Look, here is my virgin daughter and his concubine. I will bring them out to you now, and you can use them and do to them whatever you wish.  …  So the man took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they raped her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go. 26 At daybreak the woman went back to the house where her master was staying, fell down at the door and lay there until daylight.  …  He said to her, “Get up; let’s go.” But there was no answer.

WOW… how anyone could get “gays are bad” out of that, I will never understand!  That story was CLEARLY about a fucking VIOLENT rape and MURDER!  What the fuck is wrong with people?

The part that I do find interesting is that the Levite priest is travelling with a CONCUBINE…  a Jewish holy man was travelling around with his own personal mistress.  A woman who he frequently had sex with, but was not married to… a common practice for religious individuals and a practice that was endorsed by the bible!  Some people even had multiple concubines!

The only thing I can think of here is that people grab onto the part where the man says “Don’t be so vile” or “don’t do this outrageous thing”  Clearly this dude knew they were planning on gang raping and violently harming the person that was supposed to be his guest…  He clearly was NOT talking about the fact that it was men asking for the man.  He was talking about the fact that they wanted to gang-rape a LEVITE priest who he promised to give shelter, food, and protection to!  Gee… kinda sounds a LITTLE familiar huh?  NO?  Let me give you a hint…
